Caledonian Botanics

I enjoy flowers, but for some strange reason I enjoy them more through abstraction. It is as if when I remove the distraction of their colours, which by natural design is exactly why they are there, I can enjoy the shapes textures and context in their surroundings more.

A walk down to the the River Feugh. A slice through open fields, woodland and river bank and their various fauna

The stillness of Loch Kinord and its little bays of lilly and reed beds

Most of these were ubiquitous in the Scottish Highlands. Now they are the rarities, such is mans influence over the landscape.
