When you approach nature imaging, as I do, by looking for a simplified often abstract element, a location can tell you to take it back right to the most basic framework. Often lending itself to monochrome, not because of a perfect and extensive tone mapping by the book, the tonal variations here are often minimal, but because it shows a no nonsense, unequivocal, simple rendition. These remind me of the modern X-Ray's Art Conservators use to look through to an oil paintings original under drawing. These are natures under drawings!
